Dear Parents,
I simply cannot believe how quickly time is flying! We are nearing the end of school already! The school year will be over and summer will begin in just a few short weeks! I really have to say that I am so proud of each and every one of the students! They are all come so far this year~ we have had a blast with the many projects~ we’ve shed a few tears~ but shared MANY laughs! I would like to thank each of my parents for such a wonderful school year and I look so forward to working with each of you next year!
The following are our classroom updates for the remainder of the school year~ please pay close attention to reminders and/or important dates! Of course, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Bible
We have ended our section on the Judges and have now begun our unit on the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Our passage for the month of April and May is Hebrews 11:1-6. The verses for this week are as follows:
FINAL TEST Wednesday, May 19, 2010!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

For the rest of the year, we will be focusing on review of all verses learned, Books of the Bible, and the Lord’s Prayer.

Science
In recent weeks, the students have been learning all about the weather, the water cycle, and the air around us! These discussions have brought us to our next lesson~ plants! To start of our plant section, we had an awesome time with our outdoor clean up for Earth Day! What a blast! And if you haven’t taken time to see all of the hard work the kids put in, please make sure to stop by and take and peek!
Social Studies
The students had an absolute blast in the past with American Hero Dress-Up Day! Please enjoy the following video of our Day in History!
Reading
We have just a few more books that we are currently working on finishing up these last few weeks of school! I am so proud of each student and the great effort they have ALL put forth into reading this school year! I am encouraging each of them to push just a little bit further and to look at reading as a fun and exciting adventure! You can go anywhere~ all you have to do is pick up a book and add a little imagination!
