I am blessed with a wonderful Christian family who taught me about God and took me to church from the beginning of my life. I cannot remember the first time when I did not know and believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that is, He who was born and He who died to save us from our sin. I joined the church and was baptized when I was nine years old.I thought I was saved.
When I was an adult, more than one evangelist challenged us to examine our salvation experiences to be sure they were genuine. I realized that I could not remember my exact thoughts from when I was nine. I prayed first for God to recall to me those memories, then for Him to restore to me the assurance of my salvation. Finally, God answered my prayer when I prayed for Him to save me. Salvation was too important an issue for me to leave in doubt. I needed to know for sure! I have had much more joy and unwavering assurance ever since!
I have been working with children or teaching in some way most of my adult life. I started in high school and college by working in VBS every summer. After college, I taught high school three years and preschool four years before “retiring” to raise my own three children. While my children were in school I worked as a substitute teacher for about eight years. Later, I worked as a daycare teacher and a private “Nanny” for seven years.
In 2008, I began teaching English, History, and Spanish at Mount Pisgah Christian Academy.
This is my second year here. I love teaching at MPCA because of the wonderful, joyful Christian spirit of the staff, students, and parents here! I especially enjoy that the curriculum correlates factual knowledge with Biblical truths. What a joy to share these teachings with eager young minds!
